About DIU
Jwith the approval of the ministry of education, under the Private University Act of 1992 and its amendment in 1998, the Daffodil International University (DIU) came into being on 24th January 2002. DIU is an accumulation of core educationists of the country to build future Bangladesh.
Introduction
The program will provide a sound basic training in science with teaching and continual development of transferable skills essential in today's workplace. The breadth of studies will lead to an appreciation of the position of food in society, in health, in the manufacture, marketing and retailing of foods, and an appreciation of the law and regulation as applied to food. The opportunity to carry out a major project in an area of interest will be provided.
Program Objectives
The Certificate Course of Food Technology is conducted by the Department of Applied Dietetics and Food Technology is designed to produce technically skilled and conceptually sound personnel in the field to fulfill the growing demands of Food Technologists in the country and abroad. Beside this, the following objectives are also enlightened by the course.
- To prepare students for leadership positions within the food industry and related sectors.
- To understand the need and scope of the functional areas of technical management in the food industry
- To understand of the core scientific disciplines involved in food science and business-oriented subjects and marketing within the context of the food industry.
- To train the students as enterprising entrepreneurs in the food industry related sectors.
