The Department of Accounting, Daffodil International University, recently hosted a transformative seminar in collaboration with ACCA Bangladesh. The event began with a welcome speech by Professor Dr. Mohammad Rokibul Kabir, Head of the Department of Accounting, followed by remarks from Mr. Anhar Sharif, Head of the Department of Finance and Banking.
Mrs. Prawma Tapashi Khan, the Country Manager of ACCA Bangladesh, shared her inspiring journey to becoming an ACCA-qualified professional, offering valuable guidance to students on their own career paths.
Mr. Mohammad Tanvir Hossain discussed the upcoming IFRS 18 and its potential impact on the presentation of financial statements.
Mr. Shah Waliul Manzoor highlighted the fruitful collaboration between ACCA and DIU, further emphasizing the numerous pathways available to students pursuing professional accounting qualifications.
The session included a vibrant Q&A round that saw active student participation, with exciting gifts given to attendees.
A key highlight was the announcement that students will receive 4 course exemptions from ACCA, marking a significant step towards global professional excellence, with possible waivers of up to eight courses.
The seminar concluded with closing remarks from Professor Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, who expressed gratitude to the guests from ACCA and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students, hoping for a fruitful outcome from the event.
