An Overview of MBA Program

The Department of Business Administration under the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship (FBE) at DIU offers the world’s best known and most widely recognized MBA degree in the field of business for the students willing to serve in different organizations at executive, managerial, and administrative positions. MBA is one of the most sought degrees after graduation in the world because of its value to people in business and administration. The goal of the program is to produce quality graduates who are competent enough to meet the contemporary and emerging needs of business enterprises and societies, and provide the nation with knowledgeable and skilled managers who are able to meet the changing needs of 4th industrial revolution in the business environment today and days to come.

The MBA program of DIU involves rigorous teaching, field-works, industry attachment, reports, presentation and teams projects, all of which give students the necessary abilities to handle real-life business situations. This helps set them apart from those who do not have such expertise and can make them leaders in their chosen fields.

 

 

Program Structure of MBA Program

This is a 60-credit MBA program and a regular student has to complete 60 credits to earn an MBA degree. However, a student may get waiver of some courses depending upon his/her results at Bachelor and/ Master levels and managerial/professional experience. The minimum credit requirements for an MBA degree is 39 credits. Only the students having adequate professional experience and outstanding academic records will be allowed to earn an Executive MBA degree. The total credit requirements for a particular student and the courses s/he needs to take will be evaluated and determined by the academic advisor(s) of the program or the Dean of the Faculty based on his/her results at Bachelor and/ Master levels and managerial experience. Admission Requirements

Students having graduation degree from any discipline are allowed to apply for admission to MBA program. For admission to MBA program a student must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Students having minimum 2.5 GPA or 2nd division both in SSC/Dakhil/Vocational and HSC/Alim/BA/Diploma In Commerce/Diploma in Business Studies and 3 or 4 years graduation from any discipline may apply for admission.
  • Students  completing  five  O-level  subjects  and  at least  two  A-level  subjects  with  4  “B”  grade  and  3 “C”  grade  and  3  or  4  years  graduation  from  any discipline may apply for admission.

  • For MBA (Executive), an applicant must have minimum 3 years job experience in executive level after graduation.

 

Admission Process

Aplicants selected for MBA will be notified for completing admission process within specific date.They will have to produce original certificates/testi-monials and mark sheets/transcripts of all examinations passed at the time of admission. Candidates who have completed the above formalities will have to pay the required admission and other fees for enrollment in the desired program.

 

Scholarships and Financial Aids

DIU provides the meritorious and poor students with financial aid. Every year 25% poor and meritorious students of the total students receive 10% to 100% financial aid. It is remarkable that more than 2,000 students of the university avail themselves of the waiver and scholarship facilities.

Teaching Methods & Medium of Instructions

DIU follows modern teaching methods including class lectures, interactive discussion, simulation, lab work, case analysis, and field study. A special feature of DIU’s teaching is tutorial/workshop/lab sessions designed to assist students to learn on application of concepts and theories. The medium of instruction at DIU is English.

The minimum passing grade in MBA program in each course is C. Thus, to earn an MBA degree a student must ensure that his/her grade is each course is C or above.
