These experiments are based on hardware and software simulation and programming. So, this course will help them to analyze and create numerous programming-related problems professionally in their higher studies and professional field.

Short Description

Short Description on Lab: Today’s Telecommunication Network is a complex interconnection of a variety of heterogeneous switching systems. This course has a focus on both different kinds of switching systems and different classes of telecommunication networks. These will help them to design a robust telecommunication networks with sufficient traffic and higher link rate. Moreover this course also covers how to set up and configure IP-PBX technology empirically so that they can develop call center solutions.

Course Objectives: 

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Know the basic telephony system
  2. Introduce with the digital telephony exchange
  3. Acquire the basic knowledge on VOIP (Voice over internet protocol) 
  4. Learn about the Linux based software- Elastix
  5. Make call using the concept of VOIP
  6. Learn about different protocols of VOIP like-SIP, H.323

The lab will cover the following experiments: 

01. Familiarization with simple resistance measurements 

02. Resistors in series and parallel circuits, and their faults as shorts and opens.

03. Oscilloscope 

04. Resistors networks, Millman's and reciprocity theorems. 

05. Solution of resistive network, power at DC. 

06. Electromotive force and internal resistance of voltage source, maximum power transfer, and star/delta conversion. 

07. RMS value of an AC waveform. 

08. Capacitors in series and parallel.

09.Time constants and inductance. 

10. Pulse response of RL and RC circuit. Resistive, inductive and capacitive at ac circuits. 

11. Damping in RLC circuits 

Objectives: 

This course aims to give a practical view on the theoretical subject.

  • To be familiar with resistors' circuits, connections, and faults
  • To get to know the oscilloscope device and its usage. 
  • To be familiar with resistors networks and their solutions with different electrical theorems. 
  • To get to know power calculations and rms value of any signal. 
  • To be familiar with capacitors and inductors and the response of their circuits

Short Description

Computer lab is an integrated part of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering(ICE) at Daffodil International University(DIU). As a vital part of the ICE department, the Computer Lab supports students by providing access to technological resources, including Internet access, distance learning communication tools, and departmentally selected software.

Computer lab has been configured to provide hands-on experience about programming, database management system, Operating system. In our computer lab, we have 32 computers with high speed internet connection and a multimedia projector. This computer lab also opens the unique opportunity of research with two high configuration computers to explore cutting edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Networking and Simulation tools. 

Instrument

The objectives of this computer lab are-

  1. To promote and facilitate hands-on learning of different computer related subjects. 
  2. To provide students resources needed to promote learning.
  3. To enhance students computer proficiency as a part of technological adaptation. Incorporate latest software, hardware and networking solutions to provide state of the art service to all the stakeholders of the computer lab in the Department of ICE.
