Policy for International Advisory Panel


Objectives and Scope:
Daffodil International University (DIU) is recognized in independent government assessments as one of top graded universities in Bangladesh. The university has been founded by Daffodil Family with the approval of the Ministry of Education under the Private University Act of 1992 and its amendment in 1998 and Daffodil International University came into being on 24th January 2002, the University today combines impressive modern facilities and a dynamic approach to teaching and research with its proud heritage of service and achievement.

Daffodil International University aims to contribute in the following:

  • To develop skill and competent graduates as per industry requirements
  • To contribute in Internationalization of Education Systems
  • To develop Entrepreneurs
  • To stimulate interdisciplinary and international research collaborations.

Daffodil International University has few key areas to work for:

  • Developing Competent Graduates as per Global Standard
  • Developing Entrepreneurs
  • Internationalization of its Education Systems

Therefore DIU has been working to create opportunity for the students, faculty staffs, its graduates and as a whole in Internationalization of its Education Systems. Also, with approval from UGC, DIU is planning to establish its overseas campuses in Somalia, Nigeria, Dubai, UAE and Sri Lanka and in a few other countries.Therefore concentrating more on joint effort making collaboration with local and International institutions/associations and taking advises of leaders in the Education Sectors/Industry Leaders to take the mission forward with their expert advises and guidance wherever it is necessary.

Also, the University engage with the leaders, international educators, experts, policy makers and influencer in Bangladesh and other countries to take its mission forward.

Reasons for creating this position:
One of the values that is practiced at Daffodil International University is to give respect to the knowledge society and leaders. We keep communication with them, get their advice and work together. We believe experience and knowledge can help the University in setting up strategy and upgrade its academic curriculum/teaching and learning materials which in turns helps in developing the Young talents.  So, the University took the decision to set the International Advisory Board.

SCOPE OF THE WORK/Accountability/Responsibility:

  • To advise on any activities/initiative that DIU may request from the respective expertise
  • Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance whenever it may require
  • Support development initiative through linking it with right authority
  • Provide technical expertise in undertaking project
  • Promoting the University being the Ambassador
  • Representing the University in any occasion
  • Assisting the University in decision making process
  • Connecting the University with any opportunities
  • Guiding its Students/Alumni/Faculty/Staffs
  • Provide support to theTeam
  • Provide technical expertise in undertaking project
  • Provide guidance and support in developing and maintaining relationships relevant industries/authorities
  • Support the Universityin any work to develop and implement any vision, strategy and approach
  • Advise on the quality, scope and limitations, operation carried out by, or on behalf of, the I/A.

The position will have a duration of up to 3 years from January 2020 to December 2023.

It will be an honorary position either in Strategic Panel or Academic Panel to be the part of the DIU Family.


  • Will Get the Status of VIP
  • Based on Prior confirmation, will be able to enjoy all the facilities of DIU including airfare, food, accommodation and local hospitality whenever they visit the campus. Golf/Startup Restaurant/Transport/Events/Guests House
  • Name will be listed in all the documents of DIU
  • Name Card

Selection of International Strategic Advisory Panel:

The selection of International Advisory Panel will be made on the basis of position, contribution and interest in the development of DIU. The list will be reviewed every three years in December and approved by the Vice Chancellor. 

Selection of International Academic Panel:

The selection of International Academic Panel will be made on the basis of position, contribution and interest in the development of DIU. The Deans and Heads of the respective department will propose the names and will be reviewed considering the benefit of the university and Honorable Vice Chancellor will finalize the panelist. The list will be reviewed every three years in December and approved by the Vice Chancellor. 

Medical Insurance:

'Medical Insurance'/'Medical Coverage' is not provided to the members of the panel during the period of his/her visit at DIU. They should arrange/manage it from their home country.

Legal Obligation:

DIU will not be liable/responsible for committing any types of illegal and immoral activities anymore but the concerned panel members will be liable personally for doing so. At that time legal action/administrative action can be taken against him/her.
