Introduction:

Software systems are omnipresent. It is not infrequent that the life of people depends on the frictionless and reliable functioning of the programs; a point in case is medical technology. Professional verifying and testing of software therefore becomes an increasingly important task which requires well-founded education.

This is why software testing professionals from all over the world have come together and form International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB) in order to work out and define standardized contents for further education.

Topics to be covered

This course provides the essential ideas, processes, tools and skills the participants need in order to set themselves on a path for true testing professionalism. This hands-on course covers the major test design techniques with lecture and exercises. The course provides the methodology behind a successful testing program and covers a wide range of issues, from those related to the individual tester to those related to the testing department as a whole. The testing process is presented, both through theory and hands-on exercises that follow an example project, including the difficult tasks of tracking and presenting tests results. Creation of a test environment and test automation is also covered, along with system development lifecycles and how they affect testing.

This course is ideal for testers and test teams preparing for certification. It covers the International Software Testing Qualifications Board Foundation Syllabus 2007, and has been accredited by an ISTQB-recognized Solutions are provided for the exercises performed in the class, along with two mock exams, 120 sample questions covering every learning objective in the Syllabus, copies of the ISTQB Foundation Syllabus 2007 and Glossary, detailed advice on how to prepare for the exam, and more.

About the Trainer

Mr. Vipul Kocher is a co-founder of Pure Testing(www.puretesting.com) and President of Indian Softwarde Testing Board (http://208.116.30.129/index.htm),  the ISTQB board for India.

He has over 14 years of testing experience including managing Acrobat Reader testing. He has led teams for various types of products on various technologies including networking, client-server, mobile devices and desktop applications.

He has won several awards including the best paper award at STAREast 2006 and the Logica CMG Triple Star Award for the most original contribution at EuroStar 2005. The paper “Extension to Noun and Verb Technique” won the second place in SIGiST 2007 held in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Vipul invented Q-Patterns, a method of capturing testing knowledge and writing reusable test cases. This method is being used by various organizations across the world.

He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and Masters Degree in Computer Engineering from IIT, Delhi.
