Aiming to develop relationships and networking between industry and academia, a group of students led by Dr. Amir Ahmed, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Real Estate, Daffodil International University visited the Rehab Fair 2022 held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in Dhaka.

The Department of Real Estate, Daffodil International University signed a MoU with Amar Angina, a popular online based Property Buying-Selling platform which incorporated virtual reality in the property business. A team of Real Estate students of DIU have already been engaged with a part-time employment in the company. The MoU aims to create opportunities for the students of Real Estate in industry mentorship, training, internship and placement. 

Mr. Mehedi Billah Rezoan, CEO of Amar Angina and Dr. Amir Ahmed, Head, Department of Real Estate, DIU singed the MoU on behalf od their respective organizations. Professor Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship and Mr. Rayhanul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Real Estate, DIU were also present in the ceremony. Mr. Rezoan presented the ToR of the MoU among the 3rd and 4th year students of the bachelor program of the Real Estate Department.

A student mobility program was held between the Department of Real Estate, DIU, and the Department of Real Estate, University of Malaya, Malaysia on 24th of November 2022. The event was organized by using online platforms by both departments where around 100 BRE students of both universities took part along with a number of faculty members and guests. The students were involved in different activities like presentations, quiz competitions,s, etc. Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean, FBE, DIU, and Professor Dr. Anuwar Alias, Dean, FBE, UM were present as the guests of honor and a webinar session on Housing affordability in Malaysia was conducted by Professor Noorame Mohd Foudzy. Both the deans of universities focused on the continuation of such kind of programs for exchanging

With various cultural and academic knowledge among the students, Dr. Amir Ahmed, Assistant Professor, and Head, DRE, DIU expressed his special gratitude to the authorities of the universities and the organizers in his closing remarks.

Workshop on uses of ARC- GIS Software, Organized by the Department of Real Estate, DIU

The Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management (ESDM) and The Department of Real Estate (DRE) jointly conducted a seminar on "Impact of Climate Change on Flooding: Bangladesh and Australia" to reduced the flooding problem in our beautiful riverine country with the comparison between two countries.

Professor Dr. Ataur Rahman, Professor of Water Engineering, Western Sydney University, Australia was present at the seminar as the keynote speaker.

আজ ৫ জুন, বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবস। এ বছর দিবসটির প্রতিপাদ্য ‘একটাই পৃথিবী: প্রকৃতির ঐক্যতানে টেকসই জীবন’। 
১৯৭২ সালে জাতিসংঘের মানবিক পরিবেশ সংক্রান্ত আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলনে নেওয়া সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী জাতিসংঘের পরিবেশ কর্মসূচির (ইউএনইপি) উদ্যোগে প্রতি বছর সারাবিশ্বের একশরও বেশি দেশে ৫জুন ‘বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবস’ হিসেবে পালিত হয়ে আসছে।

পরিবেশগত দিক থেকে পৃথিবীকে নিরাপদ করার জন্য শিক্ষার্থীদের কার্যকরী পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণে উৎসাহিত করার লক্ষ্যে ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি, ড্যাফোডিল স্মার্ট সিটি, আশুলিয়ায় পরিবেশ বিজ্ঞান ও দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা বিভাগ, সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ, মাল্টিমিডিয়া এন্ড ক্রিয়েটিভ টেকনোলজি বিভাগ এবং রিয়েল এস্টেট বিভাগের সমন্বয়ে Rally, আলোচনাসভা, বৃক্ষ রোপন, পরিচ্ছন্নতা অভিযানসহ নানা কর্মসূচির মধ্য দিয়ে দিবসটি উদযাপন করা হয়।

Department of Real Estate of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Ratul Properties Limited, a concern of Rupayan Group have jointly organized a #Campus_Recruitment_Program on 29 March 2022 at Daffodil Smart City in Ashulia, Dhaka. 

Mr. Noyem Sharif, Head of Brand and Marketing and Mr. Md. Akhter Hossain, Head of HR and Admin of Ratul Properties were present from the employers’ end while Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Honorable Vice Chancellor of DIU was as the chief guest and Professor. Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean, FBE, DIU was the special guest. Among others Head of Department of Real Estate, Dr. Amir Ahmed and the Head of the Department of Business Administration and some faculty members were also present in the event. 

A day long workshop was conducted from the employer side followed by a spot recruitment interview. Around 30 students of BRE and BBA programs participated in the spot recruitment program. The program was organized as a part of building industry- academia relationship where the chief guest and Vice Chancellor of DIU appreciated the spot recruitment event and paid his gratitude to the employers. The concerned persons of Ratul Properties were overwhelmed to see the large green campus of DIU.

This is an enthusiastic iniciative by the DRE department for the newcome students to take real life experience of an Industrial Tour.

14th Founding Anniversary of the Department of Real Estate, DIU

A good number of alumni and existing students joined the DRE Reunited 2022 session on the second day of the 2-day long 14th Founding Anniversary of the Department of Real Estate. 

Successful alumni of the Department including Mr. Shakil Ahmed, Lecturer, DRE, Mr. Istiaq Ahmed, Deputy Manager, Akash Development, Mr. Reza Alam, Assistant Manager, Manama Development shared their memories and success stories with the current students and audiences.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, DIU addressed the session as the chief guest while the program was chaired by Dr. Amir Ahmed, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Real Estate.
