Greetings and welcome to the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management (ESDM) at Daffodil International University. The Department of ESDM started its journey in the Summer Semester of 2010. I am pleased to convey that the world is becoming more crowded, more consuming, and more connected.
Growing populations and improved living standards impose enormous stress on the environment. As a result, the environmental challenges (pollution, disaster, etc.) are climbing, which are just as real, just as divisive, and just as in desperate need of sensible responses (prevention, mitigation, and sustainable management). If you look at our areas of specialization it will come as no surprise when we say that Environmental Science and Disaster Management (ESDM) is the interface between environmental challenges and sensible responses. In the ESDM Department, we nurture both students’ knowledge and research skills with their creative ideas in terms of finding something new and applicable in the environmental research field.
