Library Day-2023

Library Day is a celebration dedicated to the importance of libraries and the services they provide to communities. It serves as a reminder of the value of knowledge, literacy, and learning. The library organization organizes various activities, such as book exhibitions, author talks, storytelling sessions, and workshops, to engage readers of all ages. The aim is to encourage people to explore new subjects, embrace lifelong learning, and cherish the treasures found within the walls of libraries, fostering a literate and enlightened society. Dr. Kazi Mostak Gausul Hoq (Professor), Department of Information Science and Library Management, Dhaka University, was our keynote speaker at the program.

Fire Evacuation Drill and Fire Safety Training

 

The Safety and Security Management of Daffodil International University successfully organized a Fire Evacuation Drill and Fire Safety Training for EEE Department to enhance awareness and preparedness for fire emergencies. The event featured a coordination meeting, hands-on training, and a full-scale evacuation drill. It brought together a diverse group of faculty members, administrative staff, students, office staff, cleaners, electricians, and other department employees, ensuring they gained valuable skills in fire safety and emergency response.

The training was a great success, reinforcing the importance of fire safety and better equipping our department to handle emergencies effectively.

The Department of Public Health at DIU proudly celebrated its 13th Foundation Day, marking over a decade of academic excellence, research, and community impact. The event also served as a warm welcome to our newest batch of students.
 
We were honored to have Professor Dr. Mohammad Ali, Bangladesh’s pioneering Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic surgeon and founder of the National Liver Foundation, as our Chief Guest. His groundbreaking contributions, including the nation’s first successful liver transplant, continue to inspire progress in healthcare.
 
✅ Professor Dr. ABM Alauddin Chowdhury – Head, Department of Public Health, for his inspiring welcome speech and appreciation of all HoDs and colleagues for their contributions in making ‘Medical and Health’ a globally top-ranked subject.
 
✅ Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain – Associate Dean, FHLS, for his motivating words that energized both students and faculty.
 
✅ Professor Dr. Azizur Rahman – Visiting Professor, DIU, for his invaluable contributions to public health education.
 
✅ Professor Dr. Md. Bellal Hossain – Dean, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS), who thanked the HoD and his team for their tireless efforts in making the department number one, including groundbreaking achievements in hepatitis awareness, impactful research publications, and global recognition.
 
✅ Professor Dr. Salamat Khandker – Who honored the legacy of Founding Head, the late Professor Dr. Shah Keramat Ali, highlighting how his vision continues to drive the department’s achievements.
 
✅ Dr. Arif Chowdhury – Delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all for the well-organized, grand success of today’s program, including the delightful Pitha Utshab and an amazing cultural program by our multitalented Public Health students.
 
The event was filled with enthusiasm, inspiration, and a shared commitment to advancing public health—both in Bangladesh and beyond. The Pitha Utshab added a rich cultural flavor, while the incredible performances by our talented students made the celebration even more vibrant.
 
As we step into a new chapter, we remain dedicated to nurturing future public health leaders and driving meaningful impact in global health. 🚀✨
