Lost Property Definition

Lost property is an item missing from its rightful owner by means of forgetting where it was left. Lost property differs from stolen property in that stolen property is something that has purposely been removed from the rightful owner. Lost property, however, can become stolen property if someone finds something, but intentionally does not return it to its rightful owner or turn it over to the Safety & Security Department.

Lost an Item?

DIU Safety and Security Department maintains a Lost and Found account at the CCTV Control Room located at AB-4, Basement-1, DSC. Students, Faculty, Staff and Visitors are encouraged to inquire about lost or misplaced articles in person by visiting our CCTV Control Room or calling us at 01847334914 or IP 65666 or mail us at security.office@daffodilvrsity.edu.bd. Anyone claiming lost and found property at the CCTV Control Room must show his/her identity and also fill up the specific form. Download form.

DID YOU FIND AN ITEM SOMEONE MAY HAVE MISPLACED?

Items found should be delivered to the CCTV Control Room. If you are unable to deliver the item please call the Security Department at 01847334914/IP 65666 and also inform verbally.

WHERE DOES UNCLAIMED PROPERTY GO?

Unclaimed items will be held for at least 30 days at CCTV Control Room. Later, It will be kept 3 months under SSMD. After that the items will be deposited to the central administration.

HOW CAN I GET MY PROPERTY BACK

If you have contacted us and there is no record of your item being turn into our department you may fill out the form below. This form will be retained in our records and we will contact you if your item is turned into us. Inquiries for Found Property should be made in person at the CCTV Control Room or by retrieving the following link:

Do You Want to Locate Your Lost Property Through CCTV Footage?

If you want to locate your lost ptoperty through the CCTV camera, you have to follow some directions those are mentioned below.

  • Fill up the form in the given link and print it out.
  • Get the approval from the Department head.
  • Get the approval from the Registre office.
  • Get approval from the Safety and Security Office.
  • Deposite the form to the CCTV Control Room.
