Background and Rationale of the Department of ICT Education

The Department of ICT Education (ICTE) at Daffodil International University offers a unique opportunity for students to develop a comprehensive blend of technology, entrepreneurship, and education skills, preparing them for diverse career pathways. With equal emphasis on Information Technology (IT) and Education, the department equips graduates to lead the transformation of Bangladesh's education sector, aligning with the national vision of Digital Bangladesh.

Our curriculum is designed to foster professional competence through in-depth knowledge, technical expertise, and ethical, social, and cultural values. The department emphasizes practical learning by offering students hands-on experiences in real-world settings, including attachment programs with digital education institutions. This experiential approach ensures a solid foundation for further specialization in IT, education, or digital pedagogy.

Unlike traditional approaches limited to educational tools or technologies (e.g., multimedia projectors or whiteboards), ICT Education integrates what to teach (ICT/Education) and how to teach (pedagogy/digital pedagogy). This distinction positions the department to prepare well-rounded educators and technologists who are equipped to navigate the complexities of modern education.

The department’s mission is to empower students to take control of their career paths by acquiring competencies in both IT and Education.
