Apparel 2 Lab (Sewing Lab) is designed to synchronize and enhance the knowledge of the students between the practical and theoretical areas by conducting practical lab experience on different types of sewing machines and fusing machines for the students of the course Apparel Manufacturing II-Lab. This course is to enable the students to Identify sewing machines and equipment and identify the functions of those machines and equipment as well as run/work in those sewing machines and equipment. In this lab there are various types of sewing machines like: Lockstitch sewing Machine, PMD chain Stitch sewing Machine, Over lock sewing Machine, Button Hole machine, Button Attaching machine, Bar Tack machine, Feed of the Arm sewing Machine and a fusing machine.

Short Description
Knitting lab is an important and main stream lab for all the students of TE. We have a very open and specious knitting lab having plenty of open space for the students and relevant offices. The lab is also significant for the students who choose Fabric Manufacturing as their elective/major course as the lab belongs to Fabric Manufacturing III & IV courses and final year theses. So, there are four lab courses offered in this particular lab facility and these courses are designed to enable the students to identify different parts of machines, instruments, tools with their mechanisms and functions for two Single Jersey Circular Knitting Machine, one compressor and one Double Jersey V-Bed Knitting Machine. The students perform their lab activities on a hands-on training basis to identify the production and yarn handling process in the machineries in the lab.

Weaving lab is one of the most important and main stream labs for all the students of TE. The lab is also significant for the students who choose Fabric Manufacturing as their elective/major course as the lab belongs to Fabric Manufacturing III & IV courses and theses. So, there are four lab courses offered in this particular lab facility and these courses are designed to enable the students to identify different parts of machines, instruments, tools with their mechanisms and functions for one pirn winding machine, one shuttle loom and one shuttle less loom. The students perform their lab activities on a hands-on training basis to identify the production and yarn handling process in the mentioned machineries. We are also planning to add some a manual jacquard and an air jet loom to this lab.

Garments washing lab is a significant one for the students who choose apparel manufacturing as their electives as the lab belongs to Apparel Manufacturing III course. This lab course is designed to enable the students to identify denim fabric, different parts of machines, instruments, tools with their functioning for different types of wet and dry processes of garments washing. For hands on activities on dry and wet wash processes different machines, instruments and tools are available in this lab. Among them washing machines (BALY type), hydro- extractor, dryer, boiler, compressor, grinding machine, destroy tools, tag gun, pp spray gun, whisker pattern, sandpaper and different types of chemicals and auxiliaries are the most important one.

Textile Testing and Quality Control Lab - I lab, known as TTQC-I lab in short, is a significant one for all the students as it offers one core lab course (Textile Testing and Quality Control - I Lab) for the students of all streams. This lab course is designed to enable the students to identify different textile testing instruments, perform various tests of fibers and yarn properties and analyze the results to make predictions about product performance. In this particular lab several hands-on activities are performed by the students, i.e., measuring relative humidity, count of roving and sliver, yarn count from packages and fabric sample, moisture regain, lea strength and CSP, Trash content and so on.

This lab course is designed to enable the students to identify different textile testing instruments, perform various testing of fabrics/cloths and analyse the results to make predictions about product performance. In this particular lab several hands-on activities are performed by the students, i.e., measuring accurate cloth width and thread density, crimp percentage, different colour fastness properties, abrasion resistance and pilling properties, fabric dimensional stability to wash and so on.

Keeping that in mind, this lab is ergonomically designed and equipped with industrial scale machines to give the best lab experience. This lab is planned to empower the students in distinguishing diverse parts of the machine, devices with their components, describe their capacities, functions and aquire practical knowledge of yarn manufacturing process.
