This course is to enable the students to measure different types of garments and identify the deviations from the measurement required by the customer. After having the comprehensive idea on the measurement of the garments, students make patterns of a T-shirt, grade those patterns and finally make a marker from the graded patterns by using a CAD software which enables students to calculate the consumption of fabric for a particular garment.

Short Description

This lab course intends to provide the students with the practical concepts of pattern making for garments, grading of patterns and making a marker from those graded patterns. It also provides in depth study on the different types of cutting machines, continuous fusing machines which enable students to realize the functions of a cutting room of a garment factory.

Short Description

This lab course is designed for the students with the process of assembling the garments as well as the pressing and finishing operations. This course explains the operation breakdown of a garment, sewing the garments according to the operation breakdown, performing the finishing operation of a sewn garments and finally assessing the quality of the finished garment.

The Knitting Lab in the DIU Textile Engineering Department is dedicated to exploring and learning about various knitting techniques, equipment, and fabrics. This lab helps students understand the production process of knitwear and analyze the resulting fabric characteristics, preparing them for roles in knitwear manufacturing and quality control.

Short Description

The Mechanical lab in the Department of Textile Engineering offers hands-on manufacturing techniques using cutting edge machines and tools. Major experiments include sand casting, where students learn mold-making and metal casting fundamentals. Experiment on the lathe machine provides lessons on precision turning tasks. Drilling machine exercises focus on hole-making techniques, while the introduction to mechanical hand tools builds foundational skills in tool handling and measurements. Students also work with welding machines to understand joining techniques, and use grinding machines for finishing operations, gaining a comprehensive understanding of fundamental manufacturing processes and equipment. Mechanical Drawing lab provides lessons on a wide range of drawing techniques such as orthographic projection, isometric drawing, oblique drawing, and AutoCAD.
