Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal
Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal is the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship (FBE) at Daffodil International University (DIU). With more than two decades of academic and administrative leadership, he has served as Head of the Department, Associate Dean, and now Dean, contributing significantly to the advancement of business education in Bangladesh.
He holds a PhD in Banking and Insurance from the University of Dhaka, along with an MBA and BBS in Marketing from the University of Rajshahi. His academic expertise spans Marketing, Services Marketing, Customer Relationship Management, and Social Business.
Dr. Iqbal has established a strong global footprint through his roles as Guest Professor at UCSI University, Malaysia and participation in the Erasmus+ Program at Anadolu University, Turkey. A prolific scholar, he has authored over 50 research publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and recently published a textbook on Services Marketing with Bangladesh Open University.
He serves as the Director of DIU’s Yunus Social Business Centre and Belt and Road Research Centre, playing a vital role in international collaboration and curriculum development. Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal is a distinguished academic, visionary educator, and institutional leader currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship (FBE) at Daffodil International University (DIU). With over two decades of committed service to higher education in Bangladesh, his contributions span teaching, research, academic leadership, and global collaboration.
Dr. Iqbal began his teaching career in 2001 and has risen through the academic ranks, starting as a lecturer and eventually becoming a professor in the Department of Business Administration. His career at DIU is marked by progressive leadership roles, including Head of the Department, Associate Dean, and ultimately the Dean of FBE since 2018. In these roles, he has championed academic excellence, outcome-based learning, and global partnership initiatives.
A scholar from Chandpur, Dr. Iqbal earned his PhD in Banking and Insurance from the University of Dhaka. He also holds an MBA with A grade and a BBS in Marketing from the University of Rajshahi. His academic specializations include Marketing, Services Marketing, Organizational Behaviour and Social Business. As Director of the Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC) at DIU, he has represented Bangladesh in numerous Social Business Days and Academia Conferences, serving as a panelist and moderator on curriculum design, research, and inclusive education. His work advocates for integrating social business into mainstream education to create value-driven entrepreneurial leaders.
His dedication to fostering international cooperation is reflected through his leadership at the Daffodil International University Belt and Road Research Centre (DIUBRRC). Professor Iqbal has chaired and convened multiple international conferences at DIU, including the 1st International Conference on Islamic Finance in Bangladesh, the Daffodil Leadership Summit, and conferences on entrepreneurship, economic development, and social transformation. He is also active in editorial and review capacities for academic journals like DIUJBE, SAGE Open, and Emerald Publishing.
