Short Description
The Basic Microbiology and Biochemistry Laboratory is dedicated to foundational studies in microbiology and biochemistry, essential for understanding disease causation and laboratory diagnostics in Public Health. This lab is equipped with specialized tools such as microscopes, incubators, autoclaves, laminar airflow hoods, and spectrophotometers. Public Health students use this lab to cultivate and observe microbial samples, perform biochemical assays, and learn to analyze the chemical properties of various biological specimens. The focus here is on developing technical skills in microbial identification and biochemical analysis, preparing students for roles that require knowledge of infectious disease mechanisms, environmental microbiology, and laboratory safety protocols.

Lab Location
Short Description
The Human Biology and Immunology Laboratory is designed to deepen students’ understanding of human physiological and immune responses, focusing on how these relate to population health and disease prevention. This lab contains equipment that enables Public Health students to conduct experiments on cellular functions and immune responses. Here, the emphasis is on examining how the immune system operates, identifying factors affecting immune health, and studying the body’s defense mechanisms against infections. This lab supports projects related to immunology, vaccine response, and the biological basis of disease susceptibility, which are critical in epidemiology and health policy development.
