A round table discussion among the highly distinguished leaders of Public Health in Bangladesh took place on the new years, organised by the Department of Public Health, Daffodil International University. The esteemed guests, along with the faculty members came together to discuss the prospect and opportunities of Bachelor of Public Health (BPH), the new program to be inaugurated by the department from Spring, 2023.
Seminar on the “Resilience through Information on SRHR & Empowerment (RISE) Programme" was held in the Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia on 09 November 2022, which was jointly organized by the Department of Public Health, Daffodil International University and the KIT Tropical Institute, Amsterdam. The seminar was disseminate the findings and experiences of the RISE project and explore future collaborations between KIT and DIU. ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐ซ. ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ง, ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ข๐๐-๐๐ก๐๐ง๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ of the Daffodil International University was present as the Chief Guest and Anke van der Kwaak, Team leader Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, KIT Royal Tropical Institute, Amsterdam was also present in the seminar as a special Guest. The seminar was chaired by Dr. ABM Alauddin Chowdhury, Head, Department of Public Health. Internationally renowned public health expert and the Hon’ble Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, DIU Professor Dr Abu Naser Zafar Ullah has given the welcome speech and also given overview of SRHR situation in Bangladesh on behalf of the DIU. A total of 75 participants were present in this seminar.
Ophelia Chatterjee, SRHR Expert, KIT Royal Tropical Institute, Amsterdam, Netherlands was given speech about Introduction to RISE training project and the RISE research project. A voluntary medical student organization, Bangladesh Medical Students' Society (BMSS) presented their recent achievements in the field of SRHR. Their coherent presentation with the RISE project was highly praised by the guests.
