Today we are sharing a profile of a DIU alumnus, Md. Shofiul Alam, who was in the 5th batch of Daffodil International University’s graduates from CIS Department, is currently working as CEO at Hypertag Solutions Ltd and also different social developing business programs. Here is his story.
Md. Shofiul Alam did his CIS in Computing Information System (CIS) from Daffodil International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh at 2006. He started his career through the field of Computing, Entrepreneurship, Startup and Leadership. His contributions for the country are really admirable. Astute, innovative and versatile self made young Entrepreneur and Executive with demonstrated record of performance leading diverse businesses, proven expertise in start-ups and growth companies. Over 7 years of management experience in technology, Internet and the electronic payment marketplace, tremendously successful identifying, establishing and managing mutually rewarding, long-term relationships with key customers. Specialties: Mobile Payments, Internet Payment, Software, Sales & marketing, Merge and Acquisition, Strategic Alliances, legal & compliances, leadership and empowerment. Featured on ‘Successful Young Entrepreneur’ by Dhaka Chamber (DCCI) on ‘Entrepreneurs Handbook’ and also featured on ‘Wall Street Journal’ USA, Yahoo Finance, MSN Money for first time ‘Mobile Remittance’ services in Bangladesh also appeared in national TV Channel & newspaper for comments on Young Entrepreneurs development and press coverage. Hypertag Solutions Ltd, (December’ 2010 –Present) Hypertag Ltd is Mobile Financial Services, Mobile Value Added Serviceand Software Company in Bangladesh with big portfolio of products and clients in domestic and international market place. It’s recently launched first ‘Mobile Remittance’ to send remote location in Bangladesh with ‘Bangladesh Commerce Bank’ Hypertag is going to merge and acquired by Canadian public Ltd Company‘First Global Data Inc.’ & its subsidy ‘F1Soft International, Singapore soon to invest in remittance and mobile banking market in Bangladesh. iPay Freedom Limited, Dhaka, Bangladesh(Jan’ 2008 –Present)
Deputy General Manager (Oct’2010 to March’2011). Worked as acting Head of Operation at iPay Limited to responsible whole operation of mobile financial services and domestic money transfer with SR Parcel Services. iPay freedom limited is a specialized mobile financial service company and sister concern of Multimode group, SR group & ICE technology established at 2008. They are offer agent networked based service delivery model and end to end managed service for financial inclusion.They launched ‘Express Cash’ with Bank Asia, Bangladesh.
SSL Wireless (2007-Present)
Sr. Manager, Business Development, Dhaka, Bangladesh (Oct’2008-Oct’2010). SSL Wireless (Software Shop Limited) was launched in 2007 as an associated company of one of the biggest garments exporting group in Bangladesh, Concorde Garments. Over the last six years, SSL has been focusing on the development of media and financial services and is at present serving15+ TV and Online News Channels, 20+ leading private and public banks, and 5+ Insurance Companies of Bangladesh offering them mobile based applications and other services. With its consistent efforts, SSL has been able to become the LARGEST Merchant Solution Provider serving 130+ merchants across the country through its "Payment Gateway Solution".
Inforev Limited (1999 – present)
Manager, Mobile VAS, Dhaka, Bangladesh (June’207- Sep’2008). Inforev Limited Bangladesh is a Pvt. Ltd company with equity partnership forms the central bank of Bangladesh, established 1999 by few young entrepreneurs as classical soft solution provider and telecom VAS platform, apps/contents aggregation for obvious essence of Telecom Convergence.
