Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir is the Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University (DIU), bringing over 44 years of experience in academic leadership, teaching, and research. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), Belgium, and has served in prominent academic and administrative roles at several leading institutions in Bangladesh. Before assuming the role of Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kabir served as a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at DIU since 2021. He was previously the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) for four consecutive terms and also served as Acting Vice Chancellor on multiple occasions. Earlier in his career, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Water Resources Engineering at BUET, where he continues to serve as a Syndicate Member. Dr. Kabir also holds a Master’s in Water Resources Engineering from BUET, a Postgraduate Diploma from Anna University (India), and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee). He has held visiting faculty positions at globally recognized institutions including the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Alberta, and TU Delft. An active contributor to the academic community, Dr. Kabir has authored 51 technical publications and has served on the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) since 2016. He chaired the Bangladesh Chapter of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) for three terms and currently leads the Quality Assurance Cell (QAC) of BAETE. In recognition of his contributions to education and leadership, Dr. Kabir received the Quality Leader Award from the World Council for Total Quality and Excellence in Education (WCTQEE) and the Exemplary Leadership Award from EDS Business School, Malaysia. |
