The COVID-19 pandemic marks an unprecedented time in the modern history that will require the best of humanity to overcome. The new coronavirus has taken thousands of lives and spread to nearly every country in the world. Bangladesh has also become the victim of this global pandemic. Now, many people, including day-laborers and small traders, are suffering a lot, caused by the coronavirus in the country. The initiatives of the Government of Bangladesh alone are not enough to prevent and overcome this pandemic. Affluent People and organizations of all levels should come forward with their helping hands to cooperate with the Government to tackle the situation in an amicable way.
With the spirit to do something for the country and to support the government in the time of the novel coronavirus outbreak, Daffodil International University (DIU), in collaboration with the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh, contributed BDT 12 lac for the Prime Minister’s Relief, Welfare fund for COVID-19. It was initiated as part of the DIU’s CSR commitment to expedite government activities to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The global education system has become one of the mostly affected sectors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the tertiary education sector has been trying hard to continue the education system through online teaching-learning platforms, there is a lack of expansion of education worldwide. Daffodil International University is considered as one of the pioneer universities in Bangladesh to implement online teaching-learning system. DIU has been practicing online teaching-learning through its self-developed online education platform since the beginning of the pandemic to ensure that students' learning is not disrupted even in the midst of this disaster
