1. INTRODUCTION

Daffodil International University (DIU) started its international postgraduate degree program in the year 2010. It has now developed an extensive global network consisting of linkages by way of exchange agreements with over 60 universities and institutions all over the world.
In 2010, DIU received its very first postgraduate international student from Nepal, in the Department of Business Administration. Since then the network has grown exponentially. Between 2010 and 2015, DIU had students from Nigeria, Somalia and Turkey in the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Management Information System (MIS), Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering, Journalism and Mass Communication, Law, Business Administration, Public Health and English and numbers are increasing day by day.

2. DEFINITION OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Students who are not permanent citizens of Bangladesh will be considered international students for purposes of admission. The wide variations that exist in course content, duration of study and educational systems make eligibility criteria very difficult to determine.
The students along with their applications must supply all syllables, transcripts, certificates etc. to the Registrar Daffodil International University. He will send all the papers to the Director, International Affairs. The Director forwards the applications to the concerned Dean of the Faculty to determine equivalence.

3. ELIGIBILITY FOR INTERNATIONAL POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

As a general rule, a student must have a minimum of 16 years of school and college or school and university in their home country with proficiency in English. Along with their applications, TOFEL/IELTS results are to be sent. Satisfactory results on the above tests will be accepted as the criteria for admission. Students failing to bring such certificates will be tested here. If found unsatisfactory, they will be given prerequisite courses in English. Students who have either studied English in their native school, college and university or had English as their medium of instruction will be waived from such examinations.
Students wishing to get admission in spring or fall semester of Daffodil International University must send their application on or before 15th November and 15th May respectively at the latest. The Registrar of Daffodil International University will let them know the outcome of their application by the end of November or May at the latest. Successful candidates will arrange their passport, visa and residence requirements in their own country before leaving for Bangladesh.

4. TRANSFER STUDENTS

Students through credit transfer will be accepted from other universities/institutes with the approval of relevant departments. The concerned equivalence committee will determine the eligibility of the applicants.

4.1 APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Foreign students will download admission forms from the DIU website, fill them in appropriately and submit them to the Registrar, Daffodil International University. While filling in the forms if students find any difficulty, they will take help from the Registrar of the University. The Registrar will intimate the final outcome through e-mail/telephone, if necessary. Disabled students must ensure with the Registrar whether there are facilities for them to pursue higher education at DIU.

4.2 EXPENSES OF HIGHER EDUCATION AT DIU

The students themselves will bear all expenses for their education at DIU. More specifically, the expenses include the admission fee, tuition fee, food, lodging and other incidental expenses such as purchasing of books and study materials. The student will himself arrange a passport, visa, health insurance, travel documents, etc. while in Bangladesh. The student will pay tuition and other academic fees in US Dollars. Other payments will be made in Bangladesh currency. For enrollment in DIU, the student will pay tuition fees for one semester in advance. This is non-refundable.

5. RIGHT TO CANCEL ADMISSION

The University reserves the right to cancel admission of any student temporarily/permanently from the University or from any class or classes of DIU for violations of the rules and regulations of the University, failure to maintain academic requirements or any other irregularity.
The Government of the Country has the right to deport any student from Bangladesh for activities subversive to the state or discipline.

The University reserves the right to bring changes, and amend or introduce new requirements in academic and financial responsibilities at any time during the student’s stay in the University.
